A 9watt energy saving lamp will cost around 0.09p(not 9p) per hour to run, based on an average of 5 hours per day, thats £1.64 per year.

Even a 60watt lamp will only be £10.95 per year, or 0.91p per month.

IS it really worth the effort, hastle and incovenience?

There are occupency switches which directly replace light switches, and this is likely the easiest way to go.

or a pneumatic time delay switch, go for the CFL lamp option, easier and cheaper
