I have a Potterton Flamingo 50 that is in good working order except for the insulation panels. My gas engineer says it is impossible to find replacements. I have even checked the Potterton website which says these parts are obsolete. Are there any suggestions as to how to replace them without going to the expense of buying a new boiler? Thank you

it is possible to by small sheets of the ceramic insulation panels and cut them to shape if these are the parts that are damaged. Your rgi would have to ensure the thickness of the board is the same. Due to the age of the boiler you may want to contact potterton to find out whether the boards contain asbestos with regard to disposing of them and handling

Not approved by manufacturers.

Obselete..... like asking for a Dodo as a pet.

Its the rope that contains the asbestos, not the panels.

Paul.
