Mr Bekett, do you have to be so silly? This is sad. I clearly made the point that we want the part ready to fit. We do not want to spend money on a serviceman to figure out if it has gone, because it has not. It works!. It seems it will last and the heavier clunk is just a sign of ageing. It is also now clear that the solenoid cannot be bought as a separate item, only the whole valve. It will check the voltage and if OK a new valve will be bought from Amazon (the cheapest) and left ready to fit if it the need is there. It may be there for years but it is there for a speedy fit. An insurance. And servicemen will fit a part if it is already there.

The valve is not complex. But a GasSafe man will fit it. It will need the pressures checked and setup when changed.
