Potterton Suprima 60 - Possibly serious servicing shortcuts

Its luckily not a problem I come across very often.

However, I could imagine that in many cases only the inner part of the flue needs replacement and that sometimes it can be fed from the outside without opening any ducting.

But the access panels WILL need to be fitted before next April !

The date's 1st January 2013. After that all ducted flues must have inspection hatches otherwise they will be deemed "At Risk".

Providing the heat exchangers not bumping and kettling it's worth keeping the boiler. Despite the pcb issues I'd still rather have a Suprima than anything made today.

OK, that's my quote.

Having never had anything like this done before I have not much idea if this is good or not. The £80 an hour somebody mentioned appears to be spot on what I have quoted, if that were fixing my car that would seem steep, is it on the high side for gas work?

Thanks again for your kind assistance.
