Check the legality of using a powerful blue strobe. If you fit a blue strobe it may even slow response by giving the impression that another crew have already arrived on scene.
How will you call the police if your house is blasted out with sound, the call taker may not be able to hear you clearly over the noise from the blasters.
If you are that remote then money is best spent on making entry difficult and keeping valuables in a secure safe that is bolted to the floor or a wall.
A time delayed safe with clear signage will reduce the risk of you being threatened with violence to open the safe. If the intruderd can see they will have to wait for an hour before the safe can be opened they are more likely to leave. Or they may be vindictively destructive to property.
Thanks Bernard for those thoughts. My apologies for a long reply. I must stress that this is a bit of an unusual situation. Where I live is 1/3 mile up a council maintained road that terminates at the house with the nearest neighbour about 3/4 mile away but with a public footpath going right around the buildings.
The premises that are the subject of this thread are NOT residential but are for a very specialised business I run at the moment from the house and are just under 100 yds from the house. I'm moving the business from the house in the next few weeks and am making final arrangements. The two properties are on a few acres of our own land so we do not have to concern ourselves unduly about disturbing others in this remote valley.
Good point about the colour of the light! I would be interested in hearing what is available as an internet search only brought up the normal low power offerings.
As far as security goes I've done my best to cover all bases but am open to suggestions for improving the level of protection. There is nothing about the work place that leads anyone to be interested in it, and I do not advertise my business though of course my neighbours know roughly what I do. We cannot be seen on a Google maps search thankfully.
I keep the blinds drawn on all the windows at night and when not there. The weak point being the two large patio type doors at the rear as this part is hidden from view, however I use this weakness to draw unwanted 'visitors' to this spot. It's there that I have the glass vibration alarmed and a light/bell system fitted to pick up the moment someone is a couple of feet away from the doors. A camera is aimed at that specific spot from outside and a second from the inside to get a good close-up of anyone. There are several other cameras to monitor other outside areas. I appreciate that the cameras will not actually stop intruders or vandals, however hopefully they may cause scumbags to abort their mission, but at least I may know what I'm up against and could provide some useful identification.
All widows are alarmed and all internal areas are covered by PIRs. The main entrance door is 3" thick being made out of 1" oak boards both sides of a substantial core, which in turn is fitted with large steel strap hinges fitted to a massive oak frame, so not a vulnerable point.
I do not have much that an intruder would have much use for apart from several heavy computers and nice screens. as most of the equipment here weighs about 1/4 tonne and is very specialised. I've subscribed to the Smart Water scheme and have their stickers placed where anyone snooping around the place will see them. I just do not want anyone in here and am doing my best to keep it that way <G> All suggestions much appreciated of course.
Cheers
Richard
