Rad tap won't turn off

I want to take a rad off and leave the taps turned off without draining the system so I can leave the system on while the rad gets sand blasted, only one of the tap won't stop turning.



There doesn't seem to be enough exposed pipe to freeze; its a non-standard size I can't find a capnut for; and the floor is tiled concrete so no other pipe I can access.

Is the only option to drain the system and replace the tap?

No just like an old tap and on is anticlockwise, off is clockwise...

then you will have to replace
