Hi all,

I'm looking to install a smart looking plasma gas fire into my lounge replacing the existing fireplace & surround with a painted wall... I was originally looking at one of these flueless plasma gas fires but have come across lots of posts advising against this here...

My question is, given that I already have a chimney can I use this to install something that looks similar but isn't going to kill my wife and child? If so can someone advise what I sorts of fires I should be looking at?

cheers

First things first you need to get some one out to check that the flue is suitable to have a gas fire installed. ( class one, is it lined, does it have a gas terminal etc) and then and only then should you think of wot fire to buy.

No end of times i've turned up at jobs and the shed etc  have sold people fires which cant be fitted and the people in there excitment have ripped the box to pieces and guess wot they won't take em back then
