Hi there

I have a Leisure electric cooker LEVC54W. After looking at various trouble shooting guides I decided the heating element in the bottom oven has gone. Unscrewed the panel inside the cooker to reveal the element and the fan but it looks like I have to access the element from the back as it does not have any screws just a plate with what looks like two bolts protruding from it.

I'm going to unscrew the back now to see if i can remove it from there.

Assuming I can and it is fairly straightforward to remove my question is while I am waiting for the replacement element to arrive can I safely continue to use the top oven?

Will I have to insulate the wires that were holding the element in the bottom oven? If so can I do this with electrical tape?

Put the old element back in place and reconnect the cables (wires). Having potentially live wires floating around inside an appliance is a big no-no. Due to the heat, ordinary insulation tape would probably be useless!
