Replacing light switch

Hi,
I'm trying to replace a dimmer switch with a light switch, however the fittings are different.

here's the new light switch:

I'm guessing the earth cable goes in the circle on the left as the old switch is the same?

but not sure where the blue and brown goes as there is L,L1,L2?

One goes into L, the other into L1. Doesn't matter which colour goes where.

So I can put Brown into "L" and blue into "L1" then earth into the gold hole on the left? does this sound ok?

Not like you ban. I bet he doesn't understand that his blue wire is in fact a live wire, nor does he get the concept of what the switch actually does! You are mellowing in your old age.
