Rescue / Replace / Remove Victorian Airbrick

Hi All,

I am renovating my bathroom but am stuck with what to do with a airbrick/vent. As you can tell, the thing has been painted over many times and is a mess. I deally I would tile this wall but I can't imagine it would look nice.

Any ideas?!

Install an extractor fan in it.

Strip the paint with a test pot from these guys http://www.stripperspaintremovers.com/products.htm and leave it , its an original period feature, once its gone , its gone.

It will be a nightmare to strip but I shall give it a go. I still think it would look naff if I tile up to it...

Anybody know where I could get a smart looking vent which I could fit over it perhaps?
