Roll top bath

Hello all,
2 questions
We are lucky enough to have bought a house with a roll top bath in it (metal one)
However previous occupiers have been careless when decorating and splashed emulsion on it. What is the best way to remove the paint without damaging the bath coating inside.
And, any tips on paint to use for the underside of the bath.

Leave a cloth soaked in really hot water on it then pick it off with your nail.

As for underneath..id opt for something flexible ish...maybe oil based eggshell or satin
