Sealing bath screen... why outside edge only???

Hi... just finished installing an over bath shower screen and noticed that it states on the instructions:

Silicone (outside edge only) where the vertical profile meets the wall, and around the bottom of the fixed panel where it sits on the bath

Just wanted to ask, whey only the outside edge and not both (inside and outside) as i was about to do??

One would think that a double seal (inside and outside) would be preferable and less likely to leak.

Does it matter?

Sealed is sealed.

Speaking from experience with a shower screen, it's definitely important to not seal the inside, especially at the bases.
