seperate oven and hob

I have a seperate electric hob and oven which were in the flat when I bought it one year ago (they dont look too old - flat was new 11 years ago). All was fine till last week when the oven stopped working. The hob is still okay though.

Does anyone have any ideas or a good contact in aberdeen?

I am a complete diy novice and wouldnt touch electricity with a (wooden) barge pole!

Try switching it on at the mains. I find that usually works a treat.

Hello Fred.....just connect the wires from both hob and oven and connect both to the wall socket......

I have a gas cooker with a 13 amp plug attached, could I connect this straight up to the wall cooker connections?

You need to retain the fuse in the plug really.

Therefore change the cooker plate to a single socket.

You could also use an fcu (switch with fuse on the front) if u have one.
