if they are mains (unlikely) they should be in paralell then to the supply
if they are 12v they should be in paralell then to the transformer, from transformer to suppply.
either way use a junction box to replace where the existing wires are now.
loo in for refernce to see how it is done, and also make a drawing before you do it, and even better lable the cables above the ceiling ( i presume you have access?)
