The point of a pullcord is there is no risk in using it with wet hands. So IMO it COULD be put inside the shower enclosure. But in the bathroom is perfectly safe. Often see them just outside the shower cubicle. Not sure on zones, but most ceilings are at 2400mm anyway.

Why outside the room?

we used to do alot of work for a local council in east london and they specified the pullcord had to be outside the shower / bath room.

i suppose in the days that i re wired properties we always just followed what we were shown, IE spec for the install

what i should really do is either call the NIC EIC hotline (if there is one) or sit and read the 17th !!!!

The body of the switch must be outside the zones, but the insulating pullcord can be within the zones.

The latter would be a good move... ;)
