Installing a bar mixer shower with a Stuart Turner 2 bar pump.
I have to put the pump in the loft as there is no room on the floor in the airing cupboard or any other accessible position. So I'll be putting in a 350mm anti-gravity loop.
I was planning to put in a Surrey Flange (no room to install an Essex), but not sure whether I actually need one? The pump instructions say that branching off the hot water riser is okay. I appreciate that this would normally cause temperature fluctuations if someone ran a hot tap when the shower was going, but the mixer is thermostatic so hopefully it would cope pretty well.
It would be easier for me to upgrade the T-piece on the hot water riser (it's currently 15mm for the old gravity shower) than to put in a Surrey flange.
Would the flange really make much difference?
