Single to double socket.

How easy is it to convert a single wal socket to a double socket?

Right, well in that case it's as easy as matching brown (or red) to the terminal marked L, blue (or black) to the terminal marked N and the bare conductors that should already have green+yellow sleeving to the terminal with the earth symbol.

Easy peasy.

The face is slightly thicker than a standard socket, but they are so much easier to fit. I don't think the untrained eye would really notice though.

Do they do the 1 gang to 2 gang conversion in chrome?
I can't seem to find it.

No. They are only available in white plastic.
