But if your chances of getting into the elite schools in the first place is made more difficult (whether you be black or a white working class kid), then the system is loaded against you!

It also about the predilection or propensity of black students applying.
It would be extremely difficult to ascertain that poor, deprived, short, fat etc, were not applying, or not succeeding at gaining places at certain establishments. As perceived by the probable applicants.
But it is extremely easy to identify the sparsity (or otherwise) of black students, or students of any nationality, disabled, gender, etc.
Additionally, of course poor, deprived, short, fat etc are not yet protected characteristics. Nationality, ethnicity, or gender are one of the protected characteristics.

So it is a misnomer to suggest that colour is an over-riding priority than the other protected characteristics.

By all means, continue to moan about the Positive Action consequences of race/colour/nationality/ethnicity.
But if you do so while conveniently ignoring the other protected characteristics, the deduction is obvious.

I really hope that one day "colour" will be forgotten. Forgetting all the tit for tat on here, offering something to blacks only, whites only or fookin pink people with green dicks only, is only prolonging the difference that isn't really a difference.

I think it has been an issue the other way round for quite some time.



As with all emancipation, the solution should not come with carte blanche to do the reverse - although it does seem to be the case.

It could be looked at similarly to men and women.

Women want equality; fair enough - so no women only shortlists, then, and no women only clubs etc.
