Supply electricity to a shed.

That rod looks like it needs reinstalling, and the connection point between the rod a cable enclosing & protecting.

"After the meter, install a henley block to split the tails - 1 set to the CU, another set to a metal box with a switch and an MCB. From there 6mm or 10mm SWA to the shed, terminated in a metal box. Shed CU with RCD protection, and local earth rod."

That sounds like an easier plan.

I am not replaicng the CU for a bigger one so i can have a split load i simply dont want to buy one.

Are they henley blocks?

Yes they are.

You will probably need the services of an electrician:

1) To fit the Henley blocks will require the service fuse to be pulled - this is not something that a DIY-er should be advised to do, although people do do it.

2) The new earth rod will need to be tested to ensure it's OK.

Remember, if it is TT, you cant have a metal box containing the primary RCD, as a fault to this metal box from the mains tails will not cause automatic disconnection.
