I have a Systemate 2000 c/h system which I have had loads of problems with since I moved into my newly built house in 2002.

I need to run the hot water at a trickle in order to fill the bath, w/h/b, take a shower, etc.

In the past I have had the mixer valve changed at the shower, had the radiators balanced, had a pump (the one in the middle of the three) replaced and various people look at it but never really fix the various problems.

I also now have a problem with the timer switch which doesnt seem to work when I put it to the 'on' position (and the clock stops altogether when I switch on the emergency heating).

I am not too technically minded but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The part of Gledhill that made Systemate 2000 recently went under.

However, they spawned a new service company (no doubt recognising the number of failures out there) and do offer a callout service.

See the Gledhill website for info.

Most of us can work on them but they are a pain in the neck and parts are usually not locally held by suppliers, meaning at least two visits.

Might be better therefore contacting Gledhill and not paying up until they have it working.

Contact Geldhill direct, and get one of their servicemen on it.

They are usually very reliable. A Grundfos pump burning out can happen on any appliance.

I've yet to find many reliable Gledhill products. Fixing these is as good as having a seperate pension fund for me.

If they were that good and reliable they wouldn't, as a company, gone under.

I recall the boiler parts/pcb recon man on here when asked which is the most reliable boiler. He said I don't know, you have to know the install base. He said because he fixes a lot of say, Baxi components this does not mean they unreliable as they are fitted in their millions. Fixing the odd Keston does not mean Keston are reliable as their install base is very small.

I find Gledhill products reliable and well designed.

how would you possibly know?? as by your own admissions you don't install, you don't service and you certainly don't repair any heating products???
You see the odd one in magazines you read sales blurb and maybe you've seen the odd new one in real life. Stop making assumptions and guessing. No one here will back up your claims, so give us some information, some facts or tell us about your experiences that makes you think they're so reliable. Your so convinced yourself, so tell us why? what makes you believe it? I'm interested to know how you come to these conclusions.

Gledhill Are P1SH.
FACT

A couple of guys on the technical Helpline apart they are the worst company I have ever had dealings with. Here is one small example!
They ripped out a 2000 the week before going under and fitted a new A class with divertor valve instead of 3 pumps but the crossed the primary and secondary pipework causing the Icos to overheat!!
Tried to phone them and all I got was a women reading a prepared statement about thm going under!
