I'm sure pitt dan can quote a BS standard after he's spoken to his buddy paul. :p

With unskimmed paper-faced standard plasterboard, you can put on 32 kilogrammes per square metre. That includes adhesive and grout, and assumes the wall is vertical (in case you were planning to tile your ceiling!)

If you skim the plasterboard, it can only support 20kg per square metre. Oh, and to quote a BS standard, BS5492, modified by BS 5385-1 section 3.4. Pretty much just tells you "plaster must be flat and solid!".

I know pitt dan and you two would make a great couple. You could discuss bs with each other.

Everybody else,

Meet smiths, a guy who can't tile.
