Ive had to change over the torbek "silent" cistern valve on our wc as it was not shutting off properly. Apart from that it was all fine. Ive basically changed the guts of it with a new one.

All working fine but when it shuts of im getting a bit of a bang with it, pretty much like water hammer. The pressure where we are is verey low and so i havent put the pressure reducer in it (old one didnt have one either and was fine).

Before i take it apart any ideas?

many thanks

try the pressure spiral first if you are supplied from the mains. You probably have a "high" and a "low" reducer. If the supply is from a tank you don't need one.

if this doesn't work, email
sales at opella
and say you have got water hammer in a Torbeck, they will send you a free two-part end-cap to prevent it.

I would have thought they'd be putting the new design of end-cap in all new products by now.
