Transformer/Converter

The project is to run a 12v 70W lamp.

If it is an incandescent lamp then the power supply will need to provide much more than 6 amps when the lamp is switched on and until the filament is white hot. Some power supplies will go into overload and shut down when loaded with an incandescent lamp and the lamp will not light.

What sort of lamp it is ? Is there a reason why it has to be DC ?

Google "12V 8A adapter". That should give enough power margin to allow for optimistic power ratings in the ads.

For a lamp it does not need to be ripple free, there are units built to power LED lamps these should be called power supplies, drivers should be constant current not constant voltage, however you will find a load of cheap DC power supplies called drivers by the manufacturer. A quick hunt, one on reading was AC output not DC, one USA so variable price £9.37 ~ £15.56 and one £31.50 the USA one actually was input 100 - 240 volt and output could be configured 12 or 24 volt.
