I appreciate there are several threads already re sealing wooden worktops, but I have had made (from oak) a draining board for our Belfast sink. This will see a lot of water, so does anyone have any advice, i.e. oil or varnish?

Thanks

Oil, varnish is too easily damaged especially on a drainer with metal utensils etc.

osmo polyx oil is a good "best of both worlds", penetrates and nourishes, forms a durable skin, can be easily topped up and repaired.

or junkers rustic oil build up a few extra coats around the drainer area.
The one I did for my mum is fine after 5 years, still looks like new, but to be honest she rarely lets water sit on it as she is one of those cleaning freaks.
