Hi
the new one came today and it has the peg at the back also which I am a bit gutted about, the lug would've been much easier. it is also locked in.
Hi
I fitted the new tensioner, the metal tab pirce wouldn't go in the dowel/lug hole as that is for the type of tensioners with the dowel not the tab, but I fitted it in the rectangle hole it seems flush and the tensioner pulley is in the same position as originally.Good luck..
hiIt is conventional, you know, for rectangular pegs to go into round holes in these situations. The casting of the engine block determines this.
Are you absolutely sure the peg wont go in? We seem to be back to square one just now.

can be done on the car can't it and then take the tensioner off ?I’d guess its possible to retension the thing if its held in a vice, and then wound up prior to popping the peg back in?
Done this before but can’t remember what make it was.

The square peg MUST go in the round hole. MUST!
