Hi, on our bathroom window the handle is in such a position that only I (tall!) can reach over the bath and open it. Is it easy to swap the handle to the other side so it is closer to reach, and likewise the hinges to the opposite side??

Obviously one issue would be the fact that the handle will leave a hole which would need to be blanked, but other than that is this a standard procedure?

Its possible but I wouldn't recommended it for a diy job.
The sash could possibly be flipped over, But it would likely need new drainage holes, Gearbox flipping over, Alining the hinges correctly and moving the keeps over.

In terms of the sash flipping over this is a no-go - the window has a smaller pane at the top which would look a bit odd if at the bottom. The only way is handles to one side and hinges to another. Are the hardware components not easily swapped?

No not easily. The edge of the sash would most likely need routing out to fit the gearbox (depending on the make of window and locking gear)
