Hi, any help would be apprieciated on an ancient glowworm fuelsaver 30B.

The Pilot light will not stay on after depressing button. The pilot inner casing has been cleaned thouroughly, the thermocouple (apart from wiggling in the pilot flame) has been replaced and is given out a healthly 30mV to the gas valve. The flue has been cleaned.

All electrics are on, pump is running & The transformer is supplying a healthy 24v ac to the gas valve.

I suspect the gas valve, (I tried hitting it) is there a test for this valve, its a honywell v8600.

It looks so basic, but it wont work. my wife, she's looking out the kitchen knives ......

what about the overheat stat? am sure these have them

are you an RGI?

Afraid not, just a lowly electronic engineer.

Is the overheat stat, the sensor with 2 black wires going into the back of the gas valve.

Thanks for the reply.
