We have just had a Vaillent 140 time switch fitted and an old Drayton unit removed to clean up the boiler as part of a Kitchen refit.

What I can't find is any over ride facility on the timer. Is there any way of turning the boiler (Vaillent 630) on heat or hot water for just an hour when the weather has turns a bit colder?

Yes it does but it doesn't work.

I've since learnt that the switch also needs a VR65 control centre to operate.

I had assumed that the switch was capable of sending instructions to the boiler and valve, and receive information from the boiler and thermostats.

Ho hum.....

Can I fix it by the two way valve or does it need to be next to the boiler and time switch?
