dhw deterioting since fitted 15 months ago. cold water filter clean, valve fully open. could anyone please help me.

how is it deteriorating?

has the flow droppped?

if so new dhw heat exchanger needed

flow has dropped to about 1 litre a min. what about restrictor or boiler flush

I dont descale dhw heat exchangers I change em then put an ihiboter on the cold mains like wot should have been fitted when the boiler went on the wall

The flow restrictor on the heat exchanger has been taken out and cleaned/removed?

have not taken out restrictor yet. wanted advice first from people who know what there talking about. dont mind changing exchanger if thats what it definetly is

has got an in line scale inhibiter?

Don't know what the waters like in Cheshire but over here low flow rate is always a blocked flow restrictor on the inlet to the heat exchanger. Just requires cleaning out and if the mains pressure is low cut out the middle section.

Really a corgi job as all within the combustion chamber.

so its worth cleaning restrictor and if that fails replace heat exchanger??

Yep cos parts are free (alright 5p for a new washer) as against ££££££ for a new heat exchanger.

could you recommend a scale inhibitor, type/make. i believe it is quite a hard water area in the part of cheshire i am in. cheers
