I'm preparing to plaster the interior brick wall of my garage, and am not sure of the correct way to deal with this door. The wall is actually slightly proud of the door frame even before plastering - something I haven't had to deal with before.

Should I be using some sort of edging strip, or perhaps building up the frame thickness with more timber. I'd be grateful for a few pointers!

I'd add some wood to the frame in two stages.

wood/plaster/final wood/

if you are after a more "interior/nice" finish then use architrave and set back the final one to give a moulded finish.
if basic, just use wood to edge the plaster.

not a builder - just diy stuff.

That makes sense, thank-you.
I'll use architrave for the final wood.
