I bought a Whirlpool washing machine in France about 4 years ago, used it for about a year then put it into storage when I moved back to the UK. The place where it was stored flooded over Christmas and so the machine has sat in about 5 inches of water for a good few days. I have only just got it back. It aint working so i had a look and it seems that the motor has seized up.
Question is how fixable are washing machines? I am tempted to order a new motor on the internet for £60 and fit it myself, doesn't look too difficult. But am i overlooking any other possible issues considering what the thing has been through? ie. it is French, it has been moved about, it has stood still for 3 years and it has sat in water for a while.
Any help is much appreciated.
