Watch two experts explain WTO in simple terms. The points I have been making yet it falls on deaf ears.

Those saying lets go for a hard Brexit they will still trade with us really have no idea.

Have you ever provided advise based on your skills, experience and knowledge? Well so are these two experts.

“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.”

“The rank and file are usually much more primitive than we imagine. Propaganda must therefore always be essentially simple and repetitious. In the long run basic results in influencing public opinion will be achieved only by the man who is able to reduce problems to the simplest terms and who has the courage to keep forever repeating them in this simplified form, despite the objections of the intellectuals.”

"There was no point in seeking to convert the intellectuals. For intellectuals would never be converted and would anyways always yield to the stronger, and this will always be ‘the man in the street.’ Arguments must therefore be crude, clear and forcible, and appeal to emotions and instincts, not the intellect. Truth was unimportant and entirely subordinate to tactics and psychology."

Goebbels.

Leave means leave. It will be sorted out after.

How long after and what happens in the meantime? Did you even watch the video? Thousands of products and thousands of variations on each product will need tariffs and each can be challenged by a country.

Do you even know the timescales involved? Take a guess.

Time doesn't matter, it will be sorted out in the end.

Do you remember when everyone was panicking on New Years eve 1999? Computer melt down, clocks going back to zero, hospitals having power cuts, etc?

Yep, NOTHING happen, it just rolled into the next day and we all carried on. Same as Brexit, bring it on.

You are not comparing like with like. I worked on the Bank systems during that time and it was a known issue that could be managed.

Time doesn't matter? Well what about a decade or more? In the meantime our exports will be facing tariffs whilst we try create our own schedule. What impact will that have on sales? Then what about imports? We will charge tariffs so prices will rise.

If you think this is comparable to the y2k bug - this is a legal, economic, trade, political issue not a tech issue. Just shaking my head in disbelief.

Especially radicalised xenophobic plumbers spouting of about issues they are bigoted against, but understand very little.
Or even worse plumbers spouting off about Y2K, when nothing happened! They do not realise that millions of pounds, dollars, euros, yen, etc was spent on preventing the unimaginable and curing the BIOS and other software of the problems.

We have all seen how minor glitches in some programs can bring down a whole array of other systems, Banking, ATM, NHS problems, etc.
The work done by IT professionals in the years leading up to Y2K removed the vast majority, and certainly the important, of those glitches and limited the problems to very minor issues.

New Years eve 1999

This is a very popular trick by some of the Leavers.

No doubt many of them are aware that a great deal of work was done by many serious, expert people over a period of ten years or more, who worked out what needed to be done well in advance, and worked in a professional, organised way to deal with the problem before it occurred.

Exactly the opposite of the Brexit omnishambles.
