Yellow MDPE gas pipe will be used to provide a gas supply to a garage for a wall heater. The pipe will be buried underground between the house and the garage.

Where should the MDPE pipe be terminated?

On the Garage I would like to have the pipe terminate on the external wall and then taken through the wall in copper in a properly sleeved hole. The section of MDPE pipe above ground would be protected by a GRP riser sleeve and the section immediately below ground including the bend would be in a PVC bend.

On the house side can the MDPE pipe be taken through the cavity wall (where it would go into the void space under the floorboards) in an appropriately sleeved hole or must it be terminated on the outside of the building?

If the MDPE pipe can be taken through the house wall, how far can it extend before it has to be replaced with copper?

Many thanks for any replies.

MDPE must only be used externally to any building. It is not fire resistant.

Thanks for the reply gas4you.

Gremlin16 - The garage end will be connected to a 3 kw gas wall heater and on the house side it will be connected back to the meter supply with appropriately sized pipe.
