As the title asks,,,,
Ive witnessed quite a few people this week talking to themselves as they're walking along the street & it got me thinking as to why they/people do it?
In the 70's, there was an old dear who lived in a harbourside cottage in Padstow who used to spend most of her time leaning out of her bedroom window & hollering. If she didn't like the look of you, she'd sling the contents of her chamberpot over your bonce...
sometimes it's a concentration thing..
verbalizing a problem helps you to work through it, just like writing down a maths problem etc.. it uses different parts of your brain..
memorizing something like a list or speach etc.. saying it out loud helps you to remember better.. again, it uses a different part of your brain..
We all talk to our selves quietly in our minds, don't we? when we get older and lose inhibitions or have more self confidence or just don't care, you just do it out load.
