Hi folks,
A customer of mine`s combi went out and wont start up again

He says the pilot light wont establish , hes changed the thermocouple but no sucess cant keep it lit

Any ideas

Without looking at it it's not that straightforward but it could be a faulty gas valve or the overheat stat may have tripped.

He checked trip and says it`s ok, the darn thing was running when we were there finishing our job could it just stop like that. Gas valve eh

hope you are sitting down when they tell you the price of a new gas valve.... i still have nightmare about it

I gave it a coat of looking at but thats as far as i go

Look at the overheat stat first, they are very flimsy....not terrible to bypass for test though.
