My daughter has had a builder putting in some electrics and water pipes in the garage so that the auto washer can go there.
The electric socket is very close (about 2 inches) to the water inlet valve and the water oulet waste pipe.
I am concerned thatif there is a water leak onto to the electrics.
Is there a defined distance that the electrics socket and the water valve/outlet should be separated?
Thanks for any advice.

Don't know about a definitive requirement but common sense is usually quite a useful guide - tends to be lacking these days. I'd suggest at least 2 feet (600mm) of separation and no sockets below water outlets.

I thought it was a metre,
Also as the new installation is in a Garage it has to be "signed off", Certificated.
