Hydro Line b24 combi DHW sensor

Hi guys, was hoping one of the boiler experts could advise.

A friends got a Hydro Line b24 combi boiler. Its build looks similar to the heatline range of boilers.

I've got a flashing red light on 40c (the 3rd light up from the bottom). On the label on the side of the boiler, it says if this light is flashing "if this LED is flashing, Check DHW sensor.

I'm not sure which one is the sensor. I've changed a couple of PRV's and heat exchangers, motorised valve heads etc so feel I am able to have a go at this if someone can point me in the right direction.

I've taken some pics, but not sure which one is the DHW sensor, and if changing this will resolve the problem.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

yep that is the correct one and it is a pain in the erse to replace, it is at the bottom left hand side of the boiler and best to use a 13mm ring spanner and a lot of patience, I drop the front panel down and move everything out of the way as much as I can then you just need to turn off the cold water supply and open a HW tap then place a bowl under the boiler to catch the residual water

This may seem a silly question, but could i use the DHW sensor from a heatline vizo 24? I got a scrap vizo boiler a while back and was wondering if this would work on the hydroline boiler?

You've got a lot of friends and family with boiler problems.

Clearly you're repairing boilers whilst not registered. Either get licenced or leave them alone. The forum is not for illegal gas workers to get advice.

Firstly I have a wide circle of friends who are property landlords, Secondly I am currently on a Gas Course which will get me the ACS and Gas safe certified. With this in mind and a number of friends who are landlords, i get asked to look at a lot of issues involving plumbing, boilers etc. I wont touch a gas fitting, or gas valves on boilers.

SO, who here is going to say "but, that constitutes work on a gas Appliance for Gain - you have to be a Registered Gas Installer with GSR" Wet/Electrical/Gas - any or all constitute 'work'

I do hope your insurance covers you for this sort of work… mine would not not, if I were not GSR registered. I hope you and your landlord clients can sleep well. I am just glad you do not work next to my family and home…
