Moving a cooker Switch

Hi,

Newbie here, be gentle!

I have just put in a new kitchen and have had to move the cooker switch as the old location was too near the Gas Hob!

What I have done is this..

removed the existing switch,
Run a length of 6mm twin and earth to a new switch
- joined these two 6mm cables with a 30amp junction box which is
buried in the middle of a partition wall.
run from the new switch, new 6mm cable to the oven connection terminal.

Is it Ok to join the 6mm cable in this way, if not, how should I?

junction boxes much be accessble. buried in a wall is not acessable. you would have to crimp it to do this

Just to be clear, I simply need to get hold of 3 6mm Crimps and a ratchet crimper and join the wires together and job done? Don't I need any futher protection to the joins (chocbox or similar?)

Sorry to appear sceptical, I prefer to overkill when it comes to safety.

you need to crimp it and make sure you use a ratchet crimper to do it properly. also, youll need a blue crimp for the earth which is 2.5mm. you should tape the joint aswell (altho someone will prob say you need to do more than this)

and all work in kitchens come under part P which is notifiable
