i have flashing right hand light on the facia. I have changed the flame sensor electrode, and overheat thermostat. pcb was replaced some months ago believed ok. boiler works for 20 mins then locks out. i have discovered everything works fine - hot water and radiators - when the inner cover is removed from the boiler!!

SOunds like it could be a flue problem. Check it's not blocked!

See the thread on Halstead Finest Gold locking out.

I'm not sure if they use the same fan, if they do check the venturi is clear.

Hi - I think I've had the same problem with my 1999 Worcester for the past 2 years now on and off. The guy (who claims to be a heating engineer specialist, not a "plumber") who does the landlords safety check hasn't in this time actually been able to resolve it though - despite replacing sensors etc. He has never mentioned the potential flue/venturi thing which sounds like exactly what I may have got an issue with.

In a nutshell, what I am after is somebody decent in the central York area? Any ideas. I thought the guy I was using was good but he's evidently just passing time and not really interested.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. Yes, it would. As I say, he specializes in boilers but has not once suggested a flue issue or venturi (despite having three cracks at the whip), both of these seem to crop up on this site quite a few times.

I could have just asked for a recommendation for York I suppose but I figured some back ground would be useful.

Hello all I am experiencing problem with Worcester 19/24 CBi woke me this morning by trying to start up continuously, goes through spark then momontarily fires then shuts down and starts sequence again, looking at manual fault not really covered by light sequences. My initial thought is flame sensor can this be cleaned? spade connector on lead looks a bit naff will replacing cure problem? Any test for sensor?

Please advise
