radiator valve replacement

what, where and how do i cut off the water supply to the radiator to replace a broken radiator valve

You make sure your motorized valve is open to manual put a hosepipe on your lowest rad drain off (or at least one lower than the rad you are changing!). Turn your water supply off to your small tank upstairs, it may be by an isolation valve near the tank or if not your mains stopcock. Open your bleed valve with your hosepipe attatched and let the water run out. Cover the floor with rags where you take the valve off it will still make a mess. Change your rad valve, refill and bleed.
