Hi I`am new to the forum and was wondering if the experts could give me some advice.
In my lounge I have one 600x1000mm radiator under my bay window, the room dim are L 5.0m x B 4.6m H 3.0m I would like to add another two radiators under the bay window on either side of the centre one, can any one tell me if it is possible to connect the radiator in a loop so to speak. I will attach a rough drawing so don't laugh.
The reason I`m asking is that I have no access under the floor boards as all the downstairs has hard wood flooring fitted.

My gas supplier is requesting me to up my direct debit to £341 per month for gas only, I have an Ideal 24he combi boiler fitted last year but my gas bills have always been high, could this be because the lounge radiator is not putting out enough BTU to keep the room at a temp of around 21deg.

The rest of the lower level is very warm, I have the wireless thermostat in the lounge, any help would be much appreciated.

You can add rads either side to increase heat output.

More heat output will cost more in gas.

You must have a VERY large property with an annual gas bill of £4000 !

Since you dont give any details of the property and insulation then we cannot advise you further.

how the hell have you managed to use so much gas with a He ideal boiler? they don't normally work long enough :D
seriously, don't think you'll notice much difference adding a radiator in the same room. Theoretically you'll be using more gas to heat them, but it should heat to the room quicker and shut down.
As has been said, either your house is very big or your gas bill is wrong

...can any one tell me if it is possible to connect the radiator in a loop so to speak.

You can hook up another rad in series or parallel; in series will make it easier to achieve a lower return temperture, but it will give a bit less ouput.

My gas supplier is requesting me to up my direct debit to £341 per month for gas only...

I presume that is a typo

You need to check your meter readings and verify if the meter is cubic meters or cubic feet. Or else you've got a huge house i.e. 10 bedrooms!!.

I pay £50 a month now, and the heating is on 24/7/52, in other words it's never turned off, and just comes on when the stats etc tell it.

That includes cooking and several pots of tea per day.

Thanks for all the replies, I live in an old type 3 bed semi detached house with large rooms and high ceilings.

I just cant understand why my bills are so high, throughout the summer the heating was hardly ever on but I was notfied that I`m in £600 debit this is why my bill is going up to £341 I wish it was a typo.

I have set my heating to come on at 07:00-09:00 21deg then goes down to 16deg from 09:00-16:00 from 16:00-23:00 back to 21deg them form 23:30-07:00 back down to 16deg dowes this make sence. So the boiler isnt really working full belt. I only have 5 radiators on in the house the rest are switched off basically the upstairs switched off apart from the bathroom.

I got a new meter fitted last month now reading M3, I still think it has to do whith the lounge radiator not giving enough btu out, thus making the boiler come on more often to try and heat this room.

And you have the stat in the cold room. :?:

You could cut those temperatures right down, when you're not in occupancy.

I set mine at 7c from 23:00 to 07:00, and you could cut the day time down to 10-12c, and move the 16::00 to 17:00 or even later.

£341 per month?
I own a 3 screen 1000 seat cinema and our gas bill is £190 per month.
