Hi I've noticed that the pump on our central heating system has started running constantly even when the heating and hot water is off on the programmer. It has done this before but as the house was brand new the work was carried out for us by the installers for free. We have been in the house well over a year now and the builders say they aren't obliged to fix it again. I'm pretty handy with domestics just wondered if there was anybody who could point me in the right direction before I start. The system is not a combi boiler but a boiler and water tank set up. Any help is appreciated thanks!

As the house/boiler is new?? than in most cases u will find that the central heating pump is wired back directly to the boiler eg the pump is under the control of the boilers electronics , & that is probably were the fault is ?
May be ?? on the otherhand if u have a Baxi Solo HE (for instance ) than the pump may well not be wired to the boiler ??

So u have a ?????????? boiler

The symptoms point to a faulty pump over run switch on the boiler which should have more than one year warranty?.

Thanks guys I'll trace back the pump pump power supply when I get home tomorrow. The boiler is a potterton 15 I think
