Hello

We have a Vaillant Ecotec plus 630 boiler and want to have hot water without any heating. We have turned the heating control knob down as in the manual but the boiler doesn't then ignite and we have no hot water. Seems the only way to have hot water is to have the radiators on - not much use in the summer.

Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

Turn your room thermostat down, not the boiler stat.

We don't have a room thermostat only the two controls on the boiler, I suppose we could turn all the rads off, but not ideal

Do you have a seperate programmer controlling the hot water & heating. If so, turn the boiler stat back up, and turn off central heating from programmer, and switch on hot water from thermostat,

Thanks but have tried that, won't fire unless hotwater and heating are both on, if we switch heating to off on programmer - no hot water.
Frustrating!!

The 630 is a system boiler an the top knob has no function usually, the bottom knob must be on for it to work,u must turn off from your room stat or programmer

In that case the switch or motor in your motor valve(s) is failed.

How many valves do you have?

Tony
