hi , i`m not a plumber nor do i have much knowledge of plumbing.

had an all rounder fit a shower pump last year (don`t know the make ,but it was from stax).

it`s at the point where you can`t run any water or flush the loo prior to taking a shower or after 30 seconds it cuts out and you`re left with a hot water trickle.

the cold tank is in the loft ,the hot water tank is on the first floor, the shower is also on the first floor.

it seems i have very high cold water pressure from the mains.

the guy has now piped into the feeds (hot and cold)for the bath and the pump is under the bath below the floorboards.

i`m getting grief from the missus because she says he`s useless.

any advice is appreciated just so i can find someone who can put it right.

thanks rik.

Your post is all over the place.

shower pump, high cold mains, pump under the floorboards. :?

So running the cold water affects the hot on the pump??
Has it always been like this?

mostly it has since the the shower pump was fitted, basically you have to wait 20mins after running a tap , or the the shower pump will go off.

or if you put the shower pump on and then flushed the loo the pump would cut out after 30 seconds.

his way of describing it was the cold water pressure overpowers the hot water.

Are you saying the cold mains is connected to the pump ?

i`l do my best,

if you take the original pipework for the bath ,hes fitted the pipes for the shower to these with some adjustable valves,

the pipes for the shower run underneath the bath then connect to the shower pump before going up the wall to the shower controls,

this is for both hot and cold.

i assume the cold water comes down from the tank.

sorry about this , but i`l try to explain as best i can.

Can't see how he can say the cold pressure over powers the hot as they are both fed from the same cws in the loft.

sorry , i should have said earlier this is a gravity fed system , the cold water tank is in the the attic .

i assume the cold water drops into the hot water tank , gets heated up an then gets pumped to the shower which is on the same floor.

so any ideas how to put this right so we can just have a shower without worrying about using a tap at the same time?

Personally as a rule any shower pump/shower should have it's own dedicated feeds from the cws and hw cylinder.
Then you don't get any air or starvation problems.
As for putting under the floorboards they can tend to over heat due to lack of air circulation.

Have you any pic's of this install ?

i will take some pics tomorrow and post them , everyone`s in bed now and i`m not far behind them.

thanks for your help.
