Is this how it should be ?

Given it's a new build provision really should've been made to run the condensate drain internally to prevent freezing. Is it too late to achieve that now?

Also looks like there's staining on the floor where the flue is dripping. The terminal can be angled upwards which may help.

The drip is to near the wall, could be when the oil filter was done, doesn't resemble oil from that angle but oil will seep uphill

Actually you touch on a good point.

A question for the experts.

What would the condensate do to the copper pipes etc below the flue if it drips on them.

May take a while but will corrode. Would be very unlikely for it to actually be able to drip on the pipework, it't too close to the wall.

In a nutshell Mr. Norcon, both you and Prince Charles can foxtrot oscar as far as I am concerned. Neither of you are coming to my house warming party.[/quote]

It IS surprising that, in a recent new build, the condenste runs outside. IF it must, most of us would use st least 32 (I use 40).

I've not been nasty. Do I get an invite?

Well you could plant a wall of conifers. That would complete it.
Well it certainly would if I was living next door as they would look a lot prettier.

Sorry OP but just soaked another keyboard.

He'd deffo get an invite to my party.

Is the condensate warm at all when it exits the boiler ? If it is, and given the short run until it meets the vertical pipe, then wouldn't that tend to prevent it freezing ? If not then would it be feasible to lag it ?
