If a cap had been put on it from the start with people being punished at the start then p2p sites would not exist but now it's a struggle to put the genie back in the bottle.
I would say its to late to slam the stable door the horse has long bolted.

If a cap had been put on it from the start with people being punished at the start then p2p sites would not exist but now it's a struggle to put the genie back in the bottle.

They give you the book to read or the DVD to watch for as long as you want it - bit like P2P eh?![]()
But it's the physical item and it is on the basis that you pay or are fined for late return..
Funnily enough, there is no basis in English (common) law where people can be fined or jailed for copyright infringement - if you know what you are doing...Fancy words which mean nothing...
Because I still don't give a f*ck....![]()
Indeed I do not have any argument with that at least you have the honesty to say so instead of trying to dress it up or make excuses...
The problem is some people struggle with being called a thief and try their best to bend words and meanings to justify what they actually know to be wrong.. you however are a breath of fresh air and will no doubt continue as you are until the point where isp's are forced to reveal downloaders and people start getting hefty fines or jail.
But you are making hay while the sun shines...
The system is wrong. If a cap had been put on it from the start with people being punished at the start then p2p sites would not exist but now it's a struggle to put the genie back in the bottle.
Neither is it at the library. Pirate Bay is just another library. You ain't gonna change the world, kid - go with the flow.

Of course but that is not the same - the DVD or CD is a single copy. If I have borrowed it then the lender is deprived.

So what if you can get out of date movies at £3.50...snico said:You buy a DVD and probably watch it a couple of times then it gets stuck on a shelf. If you want to watch it, you should buy it, seeing as it costs them more money to produce than digital.
All my DVDs are legitimate retail copies. I must have near on a hundred of them, bought mostly from ASDA or Play (some second-hand) at an average price of about £3-50p. I daresay I could have downloaded copies of dubious quality for free but why bother? I'd still have to buy a blank disc and a box to put it in - and print labels for them too.![]()

What this tells me is that the movie industry has got it right. If the genuine article is cheap enough, people will buy it.![]()
