Lathams steel security doors, any good?

Hello,

Im looking at possibly purchaseing a steel side door for my garage from Lathams. This is a super dooper all singing all dancing high spec security door for £300 + VAT !!!

It seems incredible value, ordering the same type of door elsewhere I can easily spend £700-800.

You get what you pay for and they are probably chinese imports. I am an Engineer to trade and fully understand the implications of poor quality metals in equipment that may have someones life at stake but a door. Even poor quality steel should be harder to kick in that wood!.

Anyone used the company and product?

yes i did buy. Substantial bit of kit, slightly weird lock but seems very heavy duty in just worried if the lock does give me problems in time how will i get in if i get locked out! Overall though im shocked at how good a value it has been. I have a couple of pin pricks in the paint showing rust stains but these are minute but in just making the point that the powder coating isn't as good as items i have had powder coated in the uk and it may need painting after 2-3 years. I had planed to paint mine black anyway. Would i recommend this over other doors i was quoted and had seen at around £800-1000 damb right i would.
