Had some watered down ratio 1 to 2 hypo in a 1 litre spray thing which leaked into a flexitub in bank of van. Knew something was leaking when driving along, now chest hurts a bit not massively. washed out tub and know the correct mask filter to use when putting it on patio. The swimming pool shop i bought it from said all their metal shelf brackets had rusted because of the chlorine tablets in the shop and maybe the hypo in the shop as well. Want to store, transport and use this stuff safely, anyone know anything?

What are you carrying round sodium hypochlorate for?

Is it for your tooth whitening business? :)

It's concentrated bleach. Store it in a plastic. I don't think any sort of filter mask will be suitable, perhaps a charcoal kind.

It's your ass, whatever it is you're doing with it be responsible for those around you and the environment. It'll cause damage in a water course.

Was going to clean a patio (Indian sandstone ) with it.

The large barrel of it had lid tight however the spray thing below which is mixed two to one broke and leaked into flexi tub in back of van.

Had a thermostat for an old main multipoint water heater snap in the back of the van years ago, capillary type filled with ether, got the whiff of Victory V lozenges, then had to pull over.

Mercury smell? I guess you disposed of it properly out of van

I have a mask and filter will protect against the mist of sodium hypochlorite. A guy in health and safety shop looked at my mask

What do u mean a water course?

A guy 2 and half hrs away offered to show me softwashing with it. As so many people have warned of the dangers of it maybe make the long drive. I am aware u dont get it on plants u wear goggles and mask and put on patio with watering can watering down grass etc. Still nervous about using it though

I don't think you have it in you to be a tradesman, have you tried office work?

Andy
Think I'd rather be the worst tradesman in the world than work with a bunch of backstabbing cows in a boring office environment. U got to have decent qualifications to make it worthwhile. Accounting, IT etc

I had a mate who poured drain unbloker down a drain not knowing that bleach was down there already nearly killed him it turned into clorine gas had the fire service there in full ba for 3hours he was in hospital for 3 days as he got asthma, he'll not do that again.Bob
