Ok so the first mist coat I did on newly plastered but dry ceilingI got the ratio the wrong way round (yes it was messy!). Used the remaining original mist to water down rest of paint. I think if I'm lucky the 2nd mist coat was 70 paint to 30 water. Is there a way to check if this will start to peel? Is there anything I can do to ensure it won't peel/crack with topcoats? Sickened off with myself as I have done plenty of painting so should not make a rookie error!

Mist coat is normally 1 part water, ie. pour 1 litre of water into a 10 litre of matt emulsion and mix well.

Usually states on the emulsion tin.

No it's not, ideally it should be 1part water to 1part paint. I sometimes go 70% paint 30% water but that's as risky as id like it.

1/10 is asking for peeling
