Music to my ears.I'd want £250 just to think about replacing one
it looks like it just pushes off and would pop off easily under pressure?
Air vent is not under pressure, faulty part inside is allowing vapour or water to exit the tank.I think the pressure is only on the outlet side when the pump is running; that breather cap is I think on the inlet side so will tend to be sucked in when the pump runs, not pushed off. Maybe.
The fact that liquid has escaped there when it runs makes me think that perhaps the outlet pipe is partially blocked. What do the experts think?
Pleased to hear you have diversified. One thing worse than shhtye is pressurised shhhyteAmongst other lines of earnings Yes.
forgot to post the conclusion to this incident - apparently the hole I was asking about is an air vent and the reason water was coming out of here was because the unit was blocked by some wipes that the tenants teenage daughter had put down it! I found a local saniflow engineer who unblocked and serviced the unit for £75 compared to the £725 quote from the original plumber who wanted to replace the whole unit although I think he just gave a high quote because he didn't want to have to go anywhere near it..Now that is where a sani engineer will repair where as you want to rip the customer off for a new one at hundreds of pounds.
